As the British Royal Family prepares for the annual Trooping the Colour event on June 15, speculation is rife that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, might strategically launch a new product to coincide with the celebration. This maneuver, seen by some as a cynical ploy, is grounded in past instances where Meghan and Prince Harry have timed their announcements to overlap with significant royal events.

Trooping the Colour, a grand parade marking the official birthday of the reigning monarch, King Charles III, is a highlight in the royal calendar. Scheduled to begin at 10:20 am, the event draws widespread attention and media coverage. However, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield suggests that Meghan may use this high-profile occasion to divert some of the spotlight onto her own ventures.

Schofield, who hosts the "To Di For Daily" podcast, pointed out a pattern in the Sussexes' public relations strategies. She noted that Meghan launched her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, on the same day Prince William was presenting at The Diana Award. Such timing has fueled speculation that Meghan might release a new product from her brand around the time of Trooping the Colour.

"I would not be surprised if we saw American Riviera Orchard launch a product around Trooping the Colour," Schofield remarked. She criticized the initial launch of the brand during a period of royal health concerns, noting that despite the high-profile debut, there was a lack of tangible products available for months.

After introducing American Riviera Orchard on March 14, Meghan's activity on the brand's website went dormant until late April. She then distributed handmade jams to 50 friends and influencers, generating social media buzz. However, the website still lists no products for sale, leading to speculation that a major product release could be imminent, potentially overshadowing the King’s birthday celebrations.

This anticipated move has sparked discussions about the Sussexes' PR tactics. Schofield suggested that Harry and Meghan might still attempt to capitalize on royal events despite opting out of attending them. "Clearly the Sussexes have not learned their lesson and are eager to play the PR game that Harry claims to resent so fiercely in Spare," she said.

Such strategies have drawn criticism, with some observers viewing them as attempts to upstage the Royal Family. The timing of these announcements, especially during significant royal occasions, can be seen as attempts to draw attention away from the monarchy and onto their personal projects.

As the Trooping the Colour event approaches, all eyes will be on whether Meghan Markle will indeed use the occasion to launch a new product. If so, it will add another chapter to the complex and often contentious relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family. The intersection of royal duties and personal branding continues to be a focal point of public interest and media scrutiny.
