The recent months have been a whirlwind for the British royal family. With the public closely following Princess Katherine's health journey as she battles cancer, we have witnessed the steadfast support of her personal assistant and stylist Natasha Archer. Archer has been a constant presence in Katherine's life, often seen carrying the princess's bags during royal tours. Her dedication and loyalty have clearly not gone unnoticed. It was Archer who personally collected the princess from the London Clinic following her abdominal surgery earlier this year.

Archer's recent promotion comes as recognition of the remarkable support she has extended beyond professional duties. She became part of the select group of friends and family who have been providing emotional and logistic support to Catherine during her cancer battle. To support their growing list of activities, Prince William and Princess Katherine have significantly expanded their team over the past year. Kensington Palace has confirmed that the number of staff employed by the Prince and Princess of Wales household has increased from 50 to 66, including secondees.

This expansion highlights their commitment to make a lasting impact through their various charitable endeavors. Among the new hires are Prince William's private secretary Ian Patrick, who started in March, and Princess Katherine's private secretary Tom White, who joined in February. Notably, Tom White served alongside the late Queen until her passing on September 8th, 2022, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to his new role.

In addition to the upcoming mental health initiative, William and Katherine have been tirelessly working on several other major projects from April 1st, 2023 to March 31st, 2024. They've continued to champion causes that resonate deeply with them. This includes William's Earthshot Prize and the launch of his homelessness initiative Homewards in June 2023.

It comes after the pair advertised for a new Assistant Private Secretary for Wales and the UK, with applicants required to be able to speak conversational Welsh. William is adopting a small number of charitable roles to reflect his new responsibilities in Wales as the Duke of Cornwall, but he will not be taking on a huge number of new positions after the recent Buckingham Palace review of royal patronages. His private secretary Ian Patrick said applicants should also have a strong understanding of Welsh communities, devolved government and business. The role will of course involve travel with the royals visiting towns and cities all across the UK as well as overseas.

While Princess Katherine has taken a step back from public duties this year amid her cancer treatment, last year she hosted the Shaping US National Symposium at the Center for Early Childhood. This brought together cross-disciplinary leaders, child and adult specialists, and global thinkers for the first time to consider how we grow, think and behave throughout life to build resilience for the future. As we eagerly await the official announcement of this exciting new project, it's clear that William and Catherine's dedication to their causes continues to inspire and make a profound difference. Royal fans and supporters around the world are sure to be moved by their unwavering commitment to mental health and the well-being of those in rural communities.

In breaking news, the Princess of Wales has taken on Queen Elizabeth II's former private secretary according to reports. Prince William and Princess Katherine's household has appointed Lieutenant Colonel Tom White after the princess invited him to join her at a public engagement last year. Catherine has been without a private secretary since the departure of Hannah Cockburn-Loi in October 2022. Lieutenant Colonel White worked by the late Queen's side up until her death on September 8th, 2022, when he took on the position in 2020. He became the first Royal Marine Commando to hold the position of The Prince and Princess of Wales' private secretary.

As Prince William and Princess Katherine prepare to unveil their new project, they continue to exemplify the values of dedication, service and innovation. The combination of their passionate advocacy and their increased transparency around their finances underscores their commitment to both their roles as public figures and their personal responsibilities. While the royal family remains a symbol of continuity and tradition, with leaders like them at the helm it's also clear that they're embracing change and looking toward the future. The upcoming project promises to be a testament to their vision and their desire to create positive change.
