We all know Harry had a very successful career in the British army, rising to the rank of Captain and undertaking two tours in Afghanistan. The military has always been a huge part of his identity. However, ever since he stepped back from official duties in 2020 to move to America with Meghan, things have become strained with his old comrades. Many veterans and retired officers feel Harry has turned his back on the forces by abandoning the UK. He's also faced criticism for criticizing the Royal system in his and Meghan's explosive Oprah interview, without considering how it might impact serving members.

Fast forward to now, and this simmering tension threatens to boil over thanks to an upcoming event - drum roll please - the Salute to Freedom gala! This annual ceremony in New York honors our troops with a glitzy dinner and attracts A-listers like Jon Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen. Notably, neither the Royal family nor Ministry of Defense have ever attended before. But this year, Harry is to receive an award for his work with wounded veterans, sparking outrage back home in the UK. Some are accusing it of being a popularity contest and questioning why the alleged "People's Prince" would accept fame in America while shunning his own country. Ouch.

The backlash has been so severe that none of Harry's old army buddies from his various regiments will be attending to support him at the gala. His one-time comrades are understandably conflicted - do they back a friend or retain loyalty to the crown? And it gets worse - word is top brass nixed the idea of a serving officer handing Harry his award, worried it might breach protocol or be seen as endorsing his actions. Ouch again.

Now to play devil's advocate - sure, Harry still fondly remembers his time in the forces and he does tremendous work raising awareness for veterans' mental health issues via the Invictus Games. But some say his ego has grown too big Stateside, coveting the celebrity lifestyle and praise over duty to his people. The fact no British representatives will be there speaks volumes - have his actions damaged relations beyond repair? All in all, it's shaping up to be a lonely night for Harry, surrounded only by American well-wishers and snubbed by his homeland and brothers-in-arms. It may force him to reflect on some crucial bridges burned back in the UK. The only way to mend fences is with actions, not platitudes.

So that's the piping hot mess developing as we speak. Thoughts on whether Harry deserves this isolation? Sound off in the comments below! In other Royal drama, poor Kate was reportedly left in tears after yet another confrontation with Meghan over her alleged mistreatment of staff, adding to their long-rumored rift. Royal sources say Kate found Meghan's demands on her team totally unacceptable and told her so. A source told The Daily Mail that Kate was understanding at first and tried to help Meghan adapt to the rigors of Royal life, but she soon realized Meghan's attitude was "take it or leave it". Ouch.

And in even more messy behavior, insiders say Harry was livid with rage after being uninvited from Queen Elizabeth's Platinum Jubilee balcony appearance next month. Reports claim he suffered a minor meltdown when informed he wouldn't be part of the select Royal lineup for the flyover after Trooping the Colour. A Palace aide revealed Harry "manages to make everything about him" and threw a "strop" when he wasn't given an automatic podium spot. His behavior was described as "unacceptable". Naughty naughty!
