August means one thing for the British royal family - going to Balmoral as the summer season unfolds. All eyes turned to Balmoral Castle and the village of Ballater, where Princess Catherine's presence not only signifies her return to the spotlight but also highlights the enduring connection between the Royals and the cherished landscapes of the Scottish Highlands.

Balmoral was always described as "simply paradise" by members of the British Royal Family. It seems to be a cross between Disney World and some sacred Druid grove. Like the rest of his family, the princess spent her time with William and their three children mostly outdoors, either fishing, shooting, or running up and down the hills. In a heartwarming and rare moment of public affection, the doting husband was recently spotted walking hand in hand with his beautiful wife at the Balmoral estate during the summer holiday. The couple's stroll around the beautiful Scottish grounds was a refreshing sight, especially as they had been focusing on Catherine's recovery from her cancer battle. Witnesses said they appeared super relaxed while Catherine also looked happy, dressed casually in tight jeans that accentuated her undeniable grace.

Her glowing appearance in the wake of such a formidable challenge has been inspiring to many, drawing admiration and support from fans and well-wishers worldwide. William and Catherine's walks around Balmoral have become a regular part of their routine this summer. It's been a way for them to escape the pressures of their roles, focus on Catherine's health and well-being, according to a Royal insider.

Ballater is just a stone's throw away from Balmoral Castle and it holds a special place in the hearts of the Royals, known for its discretion and respect for privacy. This small village allows Catherine and her family to enjoy moments of tranquility away from the public eye. David Cinn, a longtime resident and owner of the Braemar Gift Room shop, shares insights into the Royal Family's connection with Ballater. Ballater's charm lies in its ability to offer Catherine a sense of normalcy - a place where she could step out for a coffee without fanfare, a rarity in her public life. This year's visit to Balmoral is particularly significant following a challenging year marked by personal and public crises. The reunion at Balmoral offers a much needed respite for the royal family, including King Charles and Queen Camilla, who will gather at the estate embracing the opportunity to spend quality time together.

For William and Catherine, this trip is not only a continuation of tradition but also a chance to support and be supported by their family. Balmoral, the royal summer retreat in Scotland, opens to the public on Mondays and the press went in early for the grand tour sure to attract scores of tourists. A major newspaper began the tour in the drawing room where Queen Elizabeth was photographed just two days before she died, smiling at the camera in a lovely spontaneous moment before she met Liz Truss as she began what would be a disastrously short tenure as British Prime Minister.

King Charles is opening seven of Balmoral's hundred rooms to the public, and in the drawing room we learn he has changed the carpets back to the hunting, Stewart tartan patterns that Victoria would have had - the green, blue and yellow and red check patterns. He has also hung new chintz curtains with a light tartan strip, with matching sofa covers. Disappointment may await those booking tours for the rooms going until August 4th, with all 3,400 tickets for the 45-minute tour sold out within two hours of going on sale in April.

On the 2nd, the king's Wellington boots are on display and visitors will see the dining room and finally the library, where Charles now has his study. A royal source told the press that he wanted to bring people in to connect with the institution. He recognizes that it needs to keep evolving and, in a modern era where people want to be able to have access, he embraces that and sees them as public places more than private spaces.
