Queen Camila surprised royal fans by making an appearance at York racecourse on days three and four of the Ebor Festival. As she wowed crowds in a baby blue dress and cream trilby hat on August 24th. As patron of York Racecourse, Her Majesty also opened the latest development of the racecourse, the new state-of-the-art complex called the Bustorp development. The development is designed to improve the racegoer's experience and has sustainability at its core with rainwater harvesting tanks, solar panels, and even a living roof.

During the visit, the queen also presented the trophy to the winning owner of the Ebor Handicap on the third day of the festival on August 23rd. Camila once again wore her favorite color and wore a Fiona Clair coat dress with a short collar and four circular buttons down the front. Under her coat, Camila styled the look with a blue patterned dress also by her favorite designer. This long sleeve mini dress features an embellished pattern with contrasting white and black with various shades of blue.
The queen also wore a small leather shoulder bag from BetaDuno in Treo costing £2,200 Sterling. On her feet, she chose to wear classic dark brown shoes. Social media users on Instagram praised Camila's outfit, describing it as an "amazing color." Another royal fan posted two blue hearts to show his appreciation for the outfit.

To complete the outfit, Camila wore a beautiful Hes Suit shaped brooch emblazoned with the name Minu and covered in gemstones. Diamond expert Maxwell Stone of Steven Stone previously told Express.co.uk that Camila's brooch contains diamonds, rubies, and sapphires and is certainly an impressive piece. Maxwell Stone also added that although it is unknown how the brooch came into Camila's possession, newspaper clippings from the time period of Minu's victories in the early 1900s mention that King Edward VII owned several jeweled sash brooches. Making the queen consort's brooch an incredibly historical piece.
Camila's decision to wear the Minu broach can be seen as a touching tribute to the royal family as she is now head of state alongside King Charles. As reported in the York Press, it is understood the queen attended on Friday to view Crown Estate, the horse she owned with King Charles and which was bred by the late Queen Elizabeth. In May, Camila became patron of York Racecourse, replacing Prince Andrew who stepped down in 2019.

At the racecourse on August 24th, Camila was photographed smiling and chatting with racegoers in the royal enclosure. She appeared to be enjoying her time at the event. According to sources, the queen spent over two hours at the racecourse, viewing the races from the royal stands and balcony.
During her visit on the 23rd, she arrived by limousine just before 1pm. She watched several races from the royal viewing balcony before presenting the trophy to the winning owner and trainer of the Ebor Handicap in the paddock. Speaking to journalists afterward, Camila said she was delighted to be in attendance and praised the improvements made to the racecourse in recent years under her patronage.
An onlooker said the queen seemed to be in great spirits over the couple of days and was stopping to speak to as many people as possible. "She asked about people's bets and their favorite horses. It was lovely to see her so engaged with everyone," the source commented. As she departs, the crowds gave Camila a warm round of applause in appreciation of her visit. It's clear she takes her role as patron very seriously and enjoys supporting York Racecourse.
