Tensions between the Sussexes and the royal family appear to have escalated further, with reports claiming Princess Eugenie has accused Meghan Markle of borrowing her son to pose as Archie in misleading photos published recently.

The growing divide was underscored after Eugenie attended a Buckingham Palace garden party this week supporting other royal cousins like Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall. In an Instagram post about the event, Eugenie emphasized the importance of family support, seeming to reference her strained relationships with Harry and Meghan.

Eugenie's husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi showed solidarity by commenting with applause emojis on the post highlighting unity among those in attendance. However, it's now alleged Eugenie's backing of the firm extends beyond events - she has accused Meghan of using her son August to pass him off as Archie in beach photos released in People magazine last month.

Royal fans swiftly noted the child strongly resembled August rather than Archie. Reports suggest Eugenie was once close with Harry but relations began fracturing in 2012 when she notably wasn't informed about the Queen's death like other cousins.

This exclusion, coupled with Harry's controversial documentary and memoir, proved too much for Eugenie. She and Beatrice have also been spotted socializing amicably with Meghan critic Piers Morgan, indicating their lack of support for the Sussexes' actions.

Beatrice even visited King Charles after his cancer diagnosis, showing her involvement with the faction the Sussexes can reportedly no longer rely on. Eugenie's accusation against Meghan is the latest incident widening the rift, as she positions firmly alongside the royal establishment.

It remains to be seen how this develops, but the deepening divide is clear. With trust eroding and tensions rising on both sides of the Atlantic, hopes for any meaningful reconciliation appear to be fading fast. As the widening family schism plays out on the global stage, questions mount over whether the once-close relationships can ever be repaired
