We recently got a rare glimpse into the close bond between the Middleton family and the Prince and Princess of Wales. In a video shared by Kate in October, her parents Carol and Michael Middleton were spotted interacting affectionately with their grandchildren Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis at the Wales' family home in Norfolk.
The video, which showed the family enjoying card games together, gave us a heartwarming peek into how the Middletons have been a constant source of support for Kate especially over the past year as she underwent cancer treatment. Carol and Michael, who look relaxed and at home in Anmer Hall, have undoubtedly spent a lot of time with their daughter's young family in recent months.

Kate announced in the video that she had finished her course of chemotherapy, which she began in February after being diagnosed with cancer following an unrelated surgery last year. In her message, she acknowledged how difficult the journey had been for her whole family and emphasized the preciousness of loved ones and simple pleasures in life. Her focus now is on staying cancer-free, though the path to full recovery will be long.
The Wales have clearly embraced spending quality time with extended family like the Middletons as a way to cope with the challenges of Kate's illness. Their close relationship is perhaps not surprising given that Carol and Michael have always been hugely supportive of their daughters, including middle sister Pippa Matthews.

Pippa, who like Kate attended St Andrew's School and Marlborough College, has also achieved great success after meeting her husband James Matthews at a tennis tournament in 2007. The couple now have three children of their own - Arthur, Grace and Rose - and live just 20 minutes from the Middleton family home in Berkshire.

Meanwhile, over the past few years Kate has taken on an increasingly prominent role within the Royal Family while also prioritizing her family. As well as being a hands-on mother to George, Charlotte and Louis, she has served as joint president of the Scouts alongside the Duke of Kent since 2020.

In this role, Kate has carried out numerous visits to Scout groups to celebrate their work helping develop young people's life skills and confidence. Just last year, she, William and their children even joined a local Scout group in Norfolk for an afternoon of activities like painting and making s'mores.
In 2022, the Scouts announced that explorer Dwayne Fields would be taking over as the new UK Chief Scout from Bear Grylls. Kate warmly welcomed Fields to the role, highlighting the incredible impact of the organization. Despite challenges in her personal life, Kate remains dedicated to her official duties.

While she has understandably reduced public appearances during cancer treatment, Kate attended major events like Trooping the Colour and Wimbledon this summer. According to royal author Christopher Anderson, while Kate was once close with Prince Harry, she is avoiding getting involved in reconciliation efforts between the brothers for now.
As Anderson explained, Kate and Harry shared a special bond as siblings-in-law and best friends. However, in light of the ongoing feud and everything on William and Kate's plates presently - from the king's passing to Kate's health issues - she is prioritizing her husband. Kate undoubtedly wants to see the brothers make amends, but won't pressure William or insert herself into the situation more than necessary.

So in summary, the recent video glimpse into Kate's relationship with her parents and time with the Wales family at Anmer Hall serves as a reminder of the love and support that has undoubtedly helped them through immense challenges over the past year. It also reinforces Kate's position as a devoted senior royal committed to her duties despite difficult circumstances. While she won't force the royal reconciliation, her kindness and care for all parties involved undoubtedly lives on.
