A friend of Queen Camilla has said Prince William and King Charles III ought to "bring Prince Harry home". The call has raised eyebrows on social media.
Petronella Wyatt wrote in The Daily Telegraph newspaper that the royal family needs "some pizazz". She said this should come from Harry returning to royal duties.
Wyatt first met Camilla, the Queen, in the late 1980s. She argued that Harry's recent tour of Nigeria with wife Meghan was a big success. She thinks the royals would benefit if Harry and William were seen together again.

According to Wyatt, a former royal staff member told her William is preventing his father from reconciling with Harry. The source claimed William has been "the difficult one" between the two brothers.
Wyatt wrote: "There is a public view about William and Harry. It is William who was often the difficult one. And it is William who is preventing his father from having a proper reconciliation with Harry."
She said this situation is unhelpful when the country would be "buoyed up by seeing them together again". Wyatt believes William holds a "mildly pathological" grudge against his younger brother.

On social media, supporters of Harry and Meghan were doubtful about Wyatt's claims. One person replied: "They still talk about Harry like he's a child. Adults get to decide where they live."
Another said: "It's interesting that all these articles are written with William, not Charles, as the subject."
In her column, Wyatt criticized both Harry and William. She compared William's unhappiness to the famous melancholy of the poet Lord Byron.
Wyatt wrote: "When it comes to his brother, William's disgruntlement can at times seem mildly pathological. I realize Harry has at times taken joy out of William's life."

She added that while Harry and Meghan can be irritating, they have "youth and glamour" that young people are drawn to. Wyatt concluded it may be time for William to welcome his "prodigal brother" Harry back.
A friend of William and his wife Kate told a US media outlet there is "a grain of truth" to Wyatt's claims. However, the friend said William would not tell his father what to do regarding Harry.
The friend said: "Charles' priority is the unity of the monarchy. Given the depth of William's animosity towards Harry, Charles cannot extend an olive branch."
Harry and Meghan stepped down as working royals in 2020 and moved to California. Their last royal visit to the UK in April did not include a meeting with Charles.
Sources close to the King said he invited Harry to stay at a royal home but Harry declined. Meanwhile, Harry's team claimed he requested to see his father but was denied.

The rift deepened after Harry's memoir accused Charles of poor parenting and criticized his wife Camilla. Harry also claimed William physically attacked him in an argument about Meghan.
Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the calls for Harry's return. The debate shows the divisions caused by Harry and Meghan's departure from royal life remain unresolved.
