Megan fumed as she paced around the living room of her mansion in California. Her mind was racing after the phone call she had just received from one of her friends still in the UK. According to the friend, Rory Mroy had reached out to Prince Harry and invited him to Scotland for a chat.
Megan and Rory had history. A few years ago, before she had met Harry, Megan had been infatuated with the famous golf star. She had flirted aggressively with him at several events, hoping to catch his eye. However, Rory was in a serious relationship at the time and rebuffed her advances. When his then-girlfriend found out about Megan coming on to him, there was a big fight and Megan was kicked out of their social circle.

Ever since, Megan had harbored resentment towards Rory. She couldn't believe he would have the audacity to contact Harry now. Her grip on her phone tightened as she thought about the implications. Rory must want to warn Harry about her, she decided. He was going to try and turn Harry against her.
Megan took a few deep breaths to calm herself. She needed to think strategically about how to handle this situation. Divorce was not an option - she had come too far and sacrificed too much to give up her title now. No, she would have to get to Harry first and do damage control.

Grabbing her phone again, Megan sent Harry a message: "Darling, please call me as soon as you get this. I've just heard some unsettling news and really need to discuss it with you." Hit send, she then began hastily throwing some things in an overnight bag. She would book the next flight to Scotland and intercept Harry before he could meet with Rory.
Across the pond, Harry's phone buzzed with Megan's text. He sighed, already sensing this was about Rory's invitation. Ever since stepping back from royal duties and moving to the US, tensions with his family had grown. They disapproved of Megan's influence and didn't understand his desire for more freedom.
Rory was one of Harry's oldest friends. When Rory had called and insisted it was important they talk in person, Harry knew it must be serious. Deep down, he was worried about the path his life seemed to be taking and wanted a trusted friend's perspective.

But with Megan's interfering, Harry feared another argument was inevitable. Their relationship had become strained, with Megan controlling everything down to who he could spend time with. She insisted all his family and friends had hidden agendas to sabotage them, but Harry wasn't so sure.
Megan arrived in Scotland before Harry could respond to her text. She burst into the golf resort where Rory was staying. "Where is he?" She demanded of the front desk attendant. Rory was alerted to Megan's arrival and came down to confront her.
"Megan, whatever business you have with Harry will have to wait. We're trying to have a private conversation and sort some things out," Rory stated calmly but firmly.
Megan's eyes blazed with fury. "Don't think I don't know why you really asked him here. You've always been jealous that he chose me instead of your sloppy seconds. Well it's not going to work - I see right through your little plan!"

By now a scene was being caused. The manager came over and asked Megan to leave or he would call the authorities. Seeing she wasn't going to be able to interrupt Harry and Rory's meeting, Megan stormed out, seething with anger and humiliation.
Meanwhile, unaware of the drama unfolding, Harry arrived at the resort. He found Rory in the lounge, who greeted him with a warm hug. "Thanks for coming, mate. I was worried about you." Over drinks, Rory expressed his concern for how withdrawn and unhappy Harry seemed. He wanted Harry to know that as his friend, he would always support him but also give honest advice when needed.
