Princess Beatrice is celebrating turning 36 years old today, August 8th. She was born on this date in 1988 at Portland Hospital in London to Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Beatrice is the elder sister of Princess Eugenie and is currently ninth in line to the British throne.

The royal family is sure to be keen to help Beatrice celebrate this milestone birthday, especially her parents Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson. Her younger sister Eugenie, husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, stepson Christopher "Wolfie" Woolf, and daughter Sienna Elizabeth will no doubt also be on hand to ensure she has a special day.

While Beatrice is not a working royal and instead has a normal career in business, the Firm still cares deeply for her. They may not post about her birthday publicly on their social media channels for the sake of privacy, but they are certain to share their best wishes with Beatrice in private. She has always been close with her grandparents Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip as well.

Beatrice tends to be rather private about her personal and family life. She does not maintain an active Instagram account like some of her royal relatives do. Therefore, it's likely many details about her birthday celebrations will be kept under wraps and not shared widely with the public. Her preference has always been to stay out of the tabloid spotlight as much as possible.

Back in 1988, Beatrice's birth was a joyous occasion for the York family. She was christened on December 20th of that year in the chapel Royal at St James' Palace. Her godparents were Viscount Daventry, The Duchess of York, Lady Jane Dawnay, Peter Palumbo, Gabrielle Greenall, and Carolyn Cotterell.

At the time of her birth, Beatrice was fifth in line to the throne as the fifth grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. She has since slipped down in the order of succession to her current place of ninth in line. In 1990, Beatrice gained a younger sibling when her sister Eugenie was born at the same Portland Hospital. Their father Prince Andrew was photographed sweetly taking his eldest daughter to meet her new baby sister.

Though Beatrice is no longer a working royal, she still actively supports the Firm by attending numerous royal events throughout the year. This summer she was photographed beaming at Wimbledon, an event the Windsors regularly turn out for en masse each July. Beatrice has always been close with Eugenie and they often accompany one another to important occasions like Trooping the Colour.

In recent years, Beatrice has focused on building her career in the business world rather than undertaking official public duties. She currently holds the position of Vice President at Afiniti, an artificial intelligence software firm based in Washington D.C. Balancing work life with her role as a senior royal, Beatrice no doubt finds the perfect balance.

Beatrice has been in a long-term relationship with property developer and businessman Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi since 2018. In September 2020, the couple announced their engagement and were wed in a private ceremony last July at the Royal Chapel of All Saints in Windsor. This brought great joy to the York family after a tumultuous period for Beatrice's father Prince Andrew regarding his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Since marrying Edoardo, Beatrice has taken on the title of stepmother to his young son Christopher "Wolfie" from a previous relationship. In 2021, Beatrice and Edoardo welcomed their first child together - a daughter named Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi. Little Sienna is now nearly one year old and no doubt celebrating her mother's birthday alongside the close-knit York clan today.
