In a heartwarming moment from a source close to the Middleton family, it is clear that Princess Catherine of Wales has a very close relationship with her parents and siblings. There is no doubt that she marked sister Pippa Middleton's birthday this past Friday.

Pippa celebrated turning 41 years old on September 6th. She has stood by Catherine's side through some of her biggest challenges in life. Along with her husband James Matthews, the Middletons have been a crucial part of Catherine's support system as she undergoes cancer treatment. Pippa joined her sister and niece Princess Charlotte at the men's Wimbledon final in July. Pippa looked on proudly as Catherine received a standing ovation from the crowd in the Royal Box at Centre Court as she took her seat.

Catherine is also extremely close with her brother James Middleton. So it was touching to see his emotional response to her recent health update earlier this week. Her brother, who has likely been by her side for much of her preventative chemotherapy, commented on Instagram with a red heart emoji saying "I couldn't be more proud."

The recent video released by the Prince and Princess of Wales showing their family playing games together also featured clips of Catherine's parents, Michael and Carole Middleton. The couple was seen playing cards with William, Catherine, and their three children. This suggests the extended Middleton family has played an important role in supporting the Wales family through this difficult time.

Both Catherine and William are famously close with the rest of the Middleton clan. So it may come as no surprise to many royal watchers to see Michael and Carole in the moving video. Their appearance is a special tribute highlighting the important role they've played in Catherine's healing journey. Still frames from the video show Catherine's mother considering her cards while young Prince George looks down at his own hand. Little Prince Louis can also be seen sitting on his father's lap, quickly jumping up to seemingly claim a card from the table during their game. Another lovely shot depicts Princess Charlotte fully engaged in the game as she sits between her mom and grandfather.

While Prince Louis already has a soft spot in the public's heart, his cheeky antics were on full display again in this video. The young prince appeared to be quite competitive with his family during their games.

When Catherine first announced she was undergoing treatment for cancer back in March, her parents Michael and Carole were there to support their daughter. Carole has accompanied Catherine on school drop-offs and her younger siblings Pippa and James, along with their families who also live nearby, have rallied around her. As a longtime friend exclusively told at the time, "This is about supporting her and her feeling supported. It's a joint effort. Catherine doesn't feel isolated at all - the nuclear family they have created is an immense support, not only to William but also to Catherine too."

A previous source noted her parents would be there to lend support after Catherine's abdominal surgery in January. The Middletons are said to be a constant presence in their grandchildren's lives, often having George, Charlotte, and Louis over for sleepovers. Carole and William reportedly grabbed a drink together at a local pub in April, and Catherine's parents joined Prince William at Royal Ascot in June. Seeing her children thrive under the care and guidance of their grandfather has provided Catherine with immense relief and comfort during this challenging time. The strong family bonds have been a source of strength for her.

Michael Middleton's support has been a "lifeline" for Catherine, allowing her to focus on her recovery while knowing her family is well cared for. In his new book titled "Catherine: The Princess of Wales," biographer Robert Jobson explores the inner workings of Catherine's life and the choices she's made to prioritize her family. Jobson reveals Catherine was determined from the beginning of joining the royal family to balance her duties with her role as a mother. The deepening relationship between her father and children has not only enriched their lives but also provided Catherine with a sense of peace during this time, allowing her to concentrate on her recovery with the reassurance that her family is being well supported. The love and support of her parents, especially her father, have been crucial in helping Catherine and her children navigate this challenging journey.
