I have some exciting news to share regarding Prince Harry and recognition for his memoir Spare. It has recently been reported that Spare has been double nominated for Book of the Year prizes, which is incredibly well-deserved. Ever since its release, Harry's memoir has received immense interest from readers and continues to win awards and accolades.

When Meghan recently attended an opera book club event, Spare was on display along with The Bench, showing the recognition both Harry and Meghan are receiving for their creative works. I'm so glad that through his memoir, Harry's own story is reaching so many readers in his own words. In addition to the success of Spare, Harry has also been doing amazing work through the Invictus Games.

A few days ago, Harry appeared in a promotional video for the 2025 Invictus Games which will be held in Vancouver. The commercial did extremely well in promoting the Games. Interestingly, the same day Prince William made a visit to the South Island to see homeless people, though the details were unclear. However, it was obvious that Harry's video overshadowed any attention on William's visit.

Royal reporters accused Harry of inappropriately releasing the Invictus video on the same day as William's event, but this criticism seems unfair. Harry and Meghan are private individuals, not working royals, so they can promote their own causes without coordinating with other royals. It was merely a coincidence that their activities overlapped, yet the British media reacted angrily. I believe the real reason for their anger is that William's event received little attention compared to the buzz around Harry's inspiring Invictus commercial.

Taking a closer look at footage from William's visit, it's clear why it didn't garner much interest. In photos and video, very few people were even present, with most appearing disinterested or disengaged from William. At one point it seemed like two people tried to gift William flowers which he declined, coming across as rather rude. The way William looked at some of the individuals also seemed to imply disdain.

Both homelessness and the Earthshot Prize are supposed to be two of William's top projects, yet his South Island visit showed little sign that either initiative is making real progress or connecting with communities. As future king, William is consistently snubbed and fails to attract attention, appearing highly incompetent next to Harry and Meghan. Understandably, the Sussexes will continue to outshine William and Kate through their meaningful work.

The Cambridges' poor performance was also evident during their disastrous tour of the Caribbean earlier this year. In countries like Jamaica, they were met with open hostility, calls to leave, and pictures of William and Kate being harshly criticized. Their visit backfired so badly that it has now cost UK taxpayers £800,000 to fund a study on the future of the monarchy in the region.

Clearly, William and Kate's visit turned people further against continuing their relationship with the royal family. In contrast, when Harry and Meghan visited Jamaica for the premiere of their film, they received an incredibly warm welcome from leaders and the public alike. The prime minister even defended Harry and Meghan from negative British press.

It's understandable why these Caribbean nations no longer see value in their connection to the UK monarchy, especially with how poorly William and Kate represented it. That £800,000 could have been put to much better domestic use in the UK. No study is likely to change minds after the damage of the most recent royal tour. If anything, the monarchy offers these countries no tangible benefits, so allowing them to decide their own future makes complete sense.

While William and Kate continue making poorly received public appearances, Harry and Meghan's work goes from strength to strength. Both deserve every accolade and recognition coming their way. I look forward to following all of their future successes and positive impacts on communities worldwide.
