Grammy-winning songwriter Phineas O'Connell, known for his decades-long partnership with brother Billy O'Connell producing popular love songs, has found himself at the center of controversy after harshly criticizing Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, in a recent television interview.
O'Connell appeared on The Tonight Show last week where host Jimmy Fallon asked him about his thoughts on the ongoing debate surrounding Markle and Prince Harry's decision to step back from their roles as senior working royals in early 2020. This prompted O'Connell to unleash a scathing assessment of Markle's behavior and character.

"I think it's disgusting," O'Connell stated bluntly. "I think she's been incredibly disrespectful to the royal family, to the British people, and to the entire world." He went on to accuse Markle of having a sense of entitlement and a tendency to play the victim.
