After the meeting was suspended, Camilla confronted Anne privately. Frustrated, she asked whether Anne truly believed her family was the problem.

Those words stayed with her because they sounded much broader than a simple security convenience.
Somewhere between that dinner and the suspended briefing, the authorization had been altered. The wording expanded beyond private residential access and became broad enough to include corridors connected to official working areas.
Anne and Camilla met again behind closed doors, without aides or advisers. This conversation was more honest than any they had shared in years.
Anne explained she wasn't accusing Camilla of deliberately seeking extra power. She simply wanted to know whether Camilla realized what had been created in her name.
